Emley Show
This event is a large equestrian event with a lot of other animals showing from Shire Horses to Hamsters. There are also a lot of trade stands. Visit there web page for more information at - http://www.emleyshow.org.uk/
RAYNET's primary role is to keep police and the various organisers and the First Aid, paramedics and event Doctor all informed of any incidents.
Our secondary role will be to monitor the various entrances into the event ground to keep the organisers informed of any potential bottle necks in the flow of traffic which may impede the emergency services accessing the show ground. There is a designated "Blue Light" access route.
The gates and the car parks will also need to be monitored to give the organisers an indication as to the parking spaces available, so any queuing traffic can be directed to the spaces elevating the hold ups on the access roads. At NO time must a RAYNET operator direct traffic, we are not insured for this.
The way I am going to organise the staffing of the operators, is to setup a rotating shift system so all operators can see the show and will be on duty at all the various locations so they will be aware of the locations for future reference. This will of course depend on how many operators volunteer I get
More information to follow keep an eye on these Web pages for the latest info. The map below has the show ground with a grid overlaid on it that we will be using to identify any location of an incident, I will print some out for Saturday

The talk in frequency and the initial operating channel will be 144.625 - bring 70cm radio's as we will be using a 70cm in band repeater.
For those who are camping Friday night
Hello Campers.
As you can see from the E-mail below we have a new spot for camping.
The enclosed map shows you where it is, if you where there last year
then it’s the spot where Barnsley RAYNET put there trailer.
It’s an advantage as we can use Mike’s or Geoffs van without having to
move things on the Saturday morning.
This entrance will be used less so create less mud
J
I’ve asked if power could be made available from the farm.
Cheers
Graham
Subject: Camping at Emley
Hi Graham
Due to a shortage of cattle trailer parking could
we ask you to camp in the control area rather than goats.
Where you set up base last year.
Many Thanks
