CONTROL VENUE: Broughton Hall Nr Skipton
The Broughton Hall Estate and Business Park is on the main arterial A59, only 2.5 miles west of Skipton. When travelling from Skipton, look out for the Bull Inn on the left-hand side. The slip road down to the Business Park is 200 m past the Bull Inn. When travelling from Lancashire, the Business Park is off to the right hand side, 2.5 miles before Skipton.  Watch for the signs 200 m before the Bull Inn.

Added 14/08/08 This refers to the map below and the Ariel overview - Aerial Overview of the Meeting Pont -(pdf) - When to are on the slip road heading to wards the Hall, go over the bridge then go past the first gate on you left, around the bend to the next gate on your left to enter the open space as viewed on the Ariel photo, drive to the far end of this parking area as this will be used for the horse boxes. This will be the meeting point for RAYNET members.

PLEASE CALL INTO CONTROL EN ROUTE TO YOUR CHECKPOINT FOR PAPERWORK

OBJECTIVE: To provide safety radio for West Yorkshire Ambulance Service for horse riders on two routes by monitoring their progress through the various checkpoints and reporting back to control.

BACKGROUND TO EVENT: There are 2 routes of different lengths all of which start and finish at control. There is then the long route which is in two sections, the longest has the same initial route with a loop to make it 10 miles takes in the first section of the route to checkpoint 1 and 2 then returns via the disused railway line checkpoint 5. The long route takes the road to checkpoint 3 and 4 then via checkpoint 1 returning also along the disused railway line.

ARRIVING AT YOUR CHECKPOINT: Call control with a radio check and introduce yourself to your R4TD Marshal.

MEDICAL: There is a Ambulance at control to start with then takes a tour of the route. Please notify control when the WYMAS ambulance is at your location and when it leave with its destination. If the is need for the ambulance please report his to control, REMEMBER to have any relevant casualty details available: age, sex, symptoms, access, grid location if possible, these will all help.

STAND DOWN: Checkpoints will close down only on instruction from RAYNET control and will usually be closed when all riders have reached the next checkpoint. The last rider/s will let you know that they are the tail end. Every rider has to be accounted for before we can go home!!

DOMESTIC: Please bring a packed lunch and any other creature comforts as it will be a long day and it may be wet. Pens and pencils go without saying, but a clipboard or similar will be useful.
