Events such as charity walks, fun runs, marathons, bonfire night fireworks and open-air concerts can benefit from radio communications. RAYNET operators might be placed. |

RAYNET communications can be useful for several reasons:
RAYNET normally attaches one or more radio operators to each point where the User wants communications. The users (such as marshals) are not expected to talk on the radio. (Indeed, the terms of the Amateur Radio Licence do not allow it.) Leeds RAYNET has several members who are fit fell walkers. (We've never yet operated from up a rock face or down a cave, but if you can find us an excuse ...)
